Hatches: 700 young people marched in memory of murdered schoolboy

Seven hundred youth from three colleges in Trappes (Yvelines), paraded this afternoon in the city streets in memory of Sharif, their friend of 16 years last week stabbed and died last night as a result of his injuries.

The silent march proceeded without incident and ended 30 to 14 hours in front of city hall.
Here, Guy Malandain, the Socialist mayor of the town, took the floor, regretting that Sharif had been "killed without knowing why" and criticizing the violence: "All we want to say: stop!"

Sharif had been stabbed on 5 May in a fight between youth Pleasure those Trappes near the Village College. The alleged perpetrator of the stabbing, also aged 16, was indicted and imprisoned in an individual investment. The parquet de Versailles required him Thursday against the indictment for "murder" and not for "attempted homicide".

On the steps of City Hall, the father of Sharif, a Filipino, thanked the youth for their support. Then the closest friends of her son are mounted in pairs, embracing the family of their friend prior to disperse peacefully.
